Fatigue is becoming a problem for more and more people these days
due to their jobs, children, stress and pollution and the worst form
of it is the chronic fatigue. The symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome
are easy to identify, though it would be best to avoid getting so
far.
The cause of this syndrome is still uncertain but some theories say
that it happens because of infections that affect the immune system.
The syndrome manifests itself by a profound state of fatigue that
doesn’t remedy through sleep and gets worse when performing physical
or even mental activities. This extreme tiredness can happen over
time or it can show up suddenly, but one thing is sure: every person
affected by it will not be able to perform regular daily tasks at a
normal rate and any physical activity will only make it worse. Before
it can be diagnosed as chronic fatigue the patient has to present this
extreme tiredness for a period of six months because in many case the
fatigue can be a symptom of another condition.
Among the symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome we have:
Feeling tired daily, both after physical exercises but also after
bed rest. If the extreme fatigue doesn’t go away in a six months
period and it can’t be related to any other medical condition,
like hypothyrodism, sleep apnea or narcolepsy then your doctor
will diagnose you with the chronic fatigue syndrome or CFS. This
feeling of tiredness may install during an illness or a cold but
it doesn’t go away with it
Memory problems. Most patients report losses in the short-term
memory, difficulty in finding certain words or problems in
focusing on something.
Muscle pain and aches are also a common symptom and they are caused
by the lack of rest and energy from the organism. During sleep
one should rest, but when this doesn’t happen the body starts
feeling ill and muscles get strained only by doing little
effort
A symptom that appears later in this condition is the depression.
After a while people start feeling stressed that they can
perform their daily tasks correctly or at all and from here to
depression is only a little step. Though we should keep in mind
that the depression is not a cause of CFS is only a symptom
Among other encountered symptoms we have: pain in the joints, a
sore throat, visual problems like blurring or eye pain, anxiety,
panic attacks, low body temperature, allergies, dizziness and
fainting
